(Indy) The O’Reilly USA Mods invaded the O’Reilly Raceway Park with a season high 32 Mods. A full house of close to 25,000 hard core race fans were on hand to watch the Mod Squad and USAC Midgets. The Mods had a full program of heats and last chance race for the first time in the 2008 race season.

Hudson, Indiana driver Brad Springer set quick on the afternoon over 32 of the nation’s greatest Mod Squad drivers.  Niles, Michigan driver John Long scored his first USA Mod and O’Reilly Raceway Park win. Ken O’Conner last years Auto City Speedway Super Late Model Champion scored his first O’Reilly USA Mod win in the fast car dash.  To show how tough it was to make the feature John Mamula and Damon Breedlove had to take provisional to make the show.

The Windy City Bags 50 was the main event for the Mod Squad on the evening. The front row saw the Ohio Rocket Kyle Jones and the 2007 Series Champion Bob Curry on the outside pole position. Kyle Jones took off as soon as Chicken Little waved the green flag with 25,000 people standing on their feet. Bob Curry was running hard second until around lap 39 when he got together with Dan Friazier retiring the 98 car for the rest of the night. With Kyle Jones waxing the field for the first 40 laps that put Brad Springer second and on his back bumper for the rest of the and unable to get around Jones for the win. Kyle took his second win in two tries over Springer, Scott Tomasik, Mike Carroll, Scott Coe, Brian Nester, Joe Axsom, Ken O’Conner, Jason Timmerman, Mike Hadley, John Long, John Mamula, Damon Breedlove, Dan Frazier, and Tom Jewell rounding out the top 15 cars.

The O’Reilly USA Mods will next be in action with ASA cars at the Toledo Speedway on Sunday June, 1st. We our expecting a season high of 40 Mods to show up at the wicked half mile of the Toledo Speedway to race.  Can the Ohio Rocket Kyle Jones go for the hat trick with three wins in a row?

Jones celebrates his victory by blasting a Windy City Bags T-Shirt in the crowd!
