Angola Regular Steals the Faygo

(Angola, IN) The O'Reilly USA Mods invaded the Angola Motor Speedway this past Saturday with putting on a heck of a show. The Faygo 100 was set to be the biggest race of the year for the O'Reilly USA Mods. When it was all said and done it would be an Angola regular stealing the show for his first ever O'Reilly USA Mod win.

Tony Dager set quick time out of 32 cars on the property with a blistering lap of 14.683 at 91.943 MPH. The O'Reilly Modifieds fast car dash saw a familiar name take the win with "Smokin" Bud Perry over David Carter, Brad Springer, and Tony Dager. The heat race saw Kalamazoo Speedway regular Brent Hook pick up the win over Steve Minich, Jr., John Mamula, Dan Frazier, and Joe Axsom. The last chance race saw last week's Angola Mod Squad Feature winner Jeff Ganus pick up the win and the transfer spot over Scott Coe, Scotty Tomasik, Scott Moyer, Don Skaggs, and Mike Zordan edging out Ben Raber for the last transfer spot.

The Faygo 100 saw 24 starters lined up on the front straight away for on track introduction. Local favorite Bud Perry started on the pole of the 100 lap event and shot out to the early lead until lap 40 when "Flyin" Brian Nester used lapped traffic to take the lead. The drivers had a quick ten minute intermission at lap 50 for fuel and then went right back at it for the final 50 laps. Bud Perry had a tough break with a flat tire at the intermission giving Steve Minich, Jr the second spot when the race went back green. The amazing thing that happened is Perry sliced and diced his way through field in laps to get back into the top five. Minich, Jr. ran down Nester and took over the lead on lap 75. Minich, Jr. never looked back and took home the checkers in the FAYGO 100. Scott Coe came from the back of the field to finish an impressive second followed by Tony Dager, Tim Burkett, Bud Perry, Jeff Weston, Mike Zordan, John Mamula, Tom Jewell, Kyle Jones, Scott Moyer, Damon "Bones" Breedlove, Erik Schaeffer, Don Skaggs, and Joe Axsom rounding out the top 15.

The O'Reilly USA Mods will be back in action on Friday night June 27th at the M-40 Speedway in Jones, Mi with the AVSS Super Sprints. The O'Reilly USA Mods have been averaging over 30 modifieds at every tour stop for the 2008 season. Please check out the USA Mods website at
