
Tomasik wins on the
Highbanks of Salem Speedway
The O’Reilly USA Modified series Returned To the
Highbanks of
salem
Speedway on Sat. For Their only
appearance there in 2009. The day started out with
two drivers Breaking the old
track record. First to break it was Kyle Jones with a time
of 17.992 but it was short lived .
Current points leader Scott
Tomasik was the next car to take
to the track turning a time of 17.755.The dash was won by
Kyle Jones with Chad Poole winning the heat race. After the
drivers drew for starting position it was Scott
Tomasik on the pole with Mike
Carroll starting in 2nd. When the green flew
Steve Foster And Chad Poole
touched with Chad Poole getting into the outside wall and
unable to continue. When the race resumed it
Tomasik setting the pace On lap
7 Kyle Jones made his way past Mike Carroll and set his
sights on the leader.The 96 car
of Harold Scott was also making his way to the front with
the 99 of steve Foster in tow.
Kyle Jones pulled up on the back bumper of
Tomasik on lap 37 he dove to the
inside going into 3 but was unable to make the pass. The
Caution flew on lap 38 when Brock Coyer broke a
panhard bar setting up a green
white checkered Tomasik timed
the restart perfect and was able to hold on for the win. The
O’Reilly USA Modified Series return to action on
June
27th at Auto City Speedway in Clio Mi.
