Nester
Claims Winchester Victory
Brian
Nester let everyone know prior to Monday's Firebottle 40 for the
O'Reilly USA Modified Series that he was going to win the event,
and that's exactly what he did. Veteran Central Indiana racer
Harold Scott took the early lead from his pole starting position
with a group of eight cars right behind him. Ross Klingelhoffer
stalked Scott for several laps before making the pass for the
lead on lap eight, bringing Nester with him to second. Nester
patiently rode behind Klingelhoffer waiting for the right moment
to pass, which came on lap 32 as the two got into lap traffic
going into turn three, Nester picked the right line and got by
to grab the lead. Nester then held off Klingelhoffer to get the
win. Scott Tomasik was third, Kyle Jones fourth and Mike Stacy
fifth. Tomasik was the Fast Qualifier and the winner of the six
lap Dash event on Saturday. Klingelhoffer was the winner of
Saturday's 10 lap Fast Heat. Special Awards went to Scott
