Nester Wins
2nd Race of Berlin Challenge
20 of
some of the best modifieds in the Midwest were at Berlin
Speedway, in front of a full house, for great racing and
fireworks. The night started with Kyle Jones setting fast time
with a 17.513, followed by Travis Eddy, Dan Loughan, Brian
Nester and Ben Raber in the top 5. The dash was won by Kyle
Jones, with the heat race going to Jake Meyerink. After the draw
was done, it was Brian Nester and Kalamazoo regular Mike Brooks
on the front row. When the green flew, it was Nester jumping to
the early lead, with Meyerink moving into 2nd. The
car on the move was Travis Eddy from 8th starting
position and Kyle Jones from his 5th starting
position. The caution flew on lap 18, when Dan Loughan slowed on
the racetrack. When the green came out, it was Nester, Meyerink
and Eddy. When the green came again on lap 44, it was Travis
Eddy who jumped inside Jake Meyerink and made contact ending
the night for Meyerink. When the checkerd flew, it was Brian
Nester, Kyle Jones, Mike Brooks, Ben Raber and Scott Tomasik,
rounding out the top 5. Next in line were Steve Foster, Mark
Fleirman, Travis Eddy, Steve Curry, Ken O Conner, John Mamula,
Randy Deboer, Greg Haynes, Terri Popielarz, Jake Meyerink, Dan
Loughan, Ryan Gruppen, Al Casselman and Herb Johnson. The
OReilly USA Modifieds next stop will be Winchester Speedway on
July 19th.
